Pasta Amatriciana



  • 1 pound Bucatini
  • 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/2 each Medium White Onion, Chopped
  • 1/2 cup Bacon, Chopped
  • 3 1/2 cups Furmano's Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Grape Jelly
  • 1 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • As Needed Salt and Pepper
  • As Needed Parmesan Cheese, Grated
  1. Cook pasta al dente according to directions on package.
  2. Put olive oil in heated skillet. Add the onion; cook until golden and translucent.
  3. Add the bacon; saute for about 5 minutes.
  4. Add Furmano's Crushed Tomatoes, jelly, and crushed red pepper.
  5. Bring to boil, then reduce to simmer. Continue to cook for 1/2 hour.
  6. After fifteen minutes, season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Drain pasta, add it to the sauce and mix well.
  8. Serve hot sprinkled with parmesan or Romano cheese.
