Traditional Lasagna

Ingredients
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 1 clove Garlic, Minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Parsley Flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Whole Basil
  • 1 5/6 cups Furmano's Whole Peeled Tomatoes
  • 12 ounces Tomato Paste
  • 8 ounces Lasagna Noodles
  • 2 each Eggs, Beaten
  • 1 1/2 pounds Ricotta Cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese, Grated
  • 1 pound Mozzarella Cheese, Sliced
Preparation
  1. Cook beef until browned, stirring to crumble; drain.
  2. Add garlic, parsley, basil, Furmano's Whole Peeled Tomatoes and tomato paste. Simmer 15 minutes or until thick, stirring occasionally.
  3. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions; drain.
  4. Combine eggs, ricotta cheese, pepper, and parmesan cheese, stirring well.
  5. Spread about 1/2 cup meat sauce in a greased 9"x13" baking dish. Layer half each of noodles, ricotta cheese mixture and mozzarella cheese, and meat sauce.
  6. Repeat layers.
  7. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes; let stand 10 minutes.
