Ingredients
1 pound Ground Beef
1 1/2 cups Fresh Mushrooms, Sliced
1/2 cup White Onion, Finely Chopped
1/2 cup Green Pepper, Chopped
2 teaspoons Garlic, Finely Minced
6 ounces Tomato Paste
1 teaspoon Dried Oregano, Crushed
1 teaspoon Dried Basil, Crushed
1 teaspoon Dried Thyme, Crushed
1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Black Pepper
1/2 teaspoon Garlic Salt
3 1/2 cups
Furmano's Whole Peeled Tomatoes
1 teaspoon Sugar
1 each Bay Leaf
Preparation
In a dutch oven, cook ground beef, mushrooms, onion, green pepper, and garlic until meat is brown; drain fat.
Then add tomato paste, dried oregano, dried basil, dried thyme, cayenne, and garlic salt. Cook until paste begins to brown.
Cut Furmano's Whole Peeled Tomatoes and put into an electric blender; blend for 1 minute.
Stir into tomato paste mixture, then add sugar.
Drop a bay leaf into the sauce.
Bring to a boil; reduce heat; cover, simmer about 30 minutes.
Uncover; simmer 10 to 15 minutes more and discard bay leaf.
Serve over spaghetti or any of your favorite pasta dishes.
