Little Venice Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic, Minced
  • 6 ounces Tomato Paste
  • 6 fluid ounces Water
  • 7 cups Furmano's Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Basil
  • 8 ounces Apple Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Romano Cheese, Grated
  • 1 each Whole Onion, Peeled
Preparation
  1. In a frying pan, saute olive oil and garlic until garlic is translucent, then add tomato paste.
  2. Add water and simmer for 15 minutes; set aside.
  3. In a large sauce pan, combine Furmano's Crushed Tomatoes, parsley, basil, apple sauce, Romano cheese, and onion.
  4. Add ingredients from frying pan to mixture in the sauce pan; simmer for 1 hour. (Don't overcook.)
  5. Remove the whole onion and discard.
  6. Serve over linguine or your favorite pasta.
